Boulder Night Sky Festival 2019
Join us on Friday, August 23 2019 for two amazing events!
Model Rocket Workshop
Sponsored by the Boulder Mountain Lodge & the Garfield County School District STEM program
Presented by the Dark Rangers from Tropic, UT & hosted by the Boulder Community Alliance
Building/Launching Location: Boulder Town Park (Inclement Weather Location: Boulder Community Center)
Rocket Building Start Time: anytime between 2–3:30 pm
Kids ages 5 to 100, join us on Friday, August 23, 2019 to construct a rocket! Space is limited to 30 participants, so sign up soon! Parents, please plan on accompanying your child(ren) under 13 to assist with construction and launching.
Kits are priced at $2 for the small rocket with the option of upgrading to a medium or large rocket for an additional fee. Extra motors will be available at a nominal price. (Thank you to the Boulder Mountain Lodge for their generous donation to sponsors these kits!)
Evening Under the Stars
Hosted by the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, Garfield County School District STEM program & the Boulder Community Alliance
Please carpool and park at the main lodge. All activities will take place in the new buildings to the south. Just walk down the path toward the beaver ponds! Bring layers, your curiosity and questions!
6 pm – Door Prizes, Raffle, Silent Auction, Light Fare & Drinks (Accepting donations! Please get in touch if you have an astronomy themed donation!)
7:30 pm – “The Distance Ladder” Presentation
8 pm – Laser Constellation Tour
9 –11 pm – Telescope Viewing through 4 gigantic telescopes!
